Choosing a scooter
How do I choose the right electric scooter?
Start with how far you ride on a typical day, add a 30–40% buffer and look for a manufacturer-claimed range at least that high (real-world range is usually 60–75% of the claim). Then check the maximum rider load against your weight with gear, decide whether you need to carry the scooter (weight and folding), and match the top speed to what is legal where you ride. Our Find Your Scooter tool applies exactly these rules.
Why is real-world range lower than the manufacturer figure?
Manufacturers test with a light rider, on flat ground, at a steady moderate speed, in mild weather. Heavier riders, hills, stop-start traffic, cold temperatures, under-inflated tires and full-throttle riding all reduce range. Plan on 60–75% of the claimed figure for everyday use.
What do “manufacturer-rated” and “independently verified” mean on your product pages?
“Manufacturer-rated” figures are the specifications published by the manufacturer. “Independently verified” means our team or a named reviewer measured the figure under stated conditions (rider weight, route, temperature). We label them separately so you always know which is which.
Do I need a dual-motor scooter?
Only if you regularly climb steep hills, ride off-road or weigh towards the upper end of a scooter’s load rating. For flat commuting a single 350–500 W motor is adequate; dual motors add weight, cost and power you may not legally be allowed to use.
Shipping & delivery
Where do you ship?
To the destinations enabled in our shipping zones — the checkout shows every option and price for your address before you pay. Battery products cannot be shipped everywhere; see the Shipping & Delivery page.
How long does delivery take?
Each product page shows the typical delivery window for every zone we serve, plus our processing time. The exact method and cost are calculated at checkout.
Can I track my order?
Yes. Every shipment is tracked. Use the Order Tracking page with your order number and email, or the link in your dispatch email.
Why are batteries shipped differently?
Lithium-ion batteries are regulated as dangerous goods. They ship by ground or with approved carriers only, with specific packaging and labelling, which can add transit time and limit destinations.
Batteries & charging
How should I look after the battery?
Charge with the supplied or an approved charger, avoid storing the scooter fully discharged or at 100% for weeks, keep it out of extreme heat and cold, and charge in a dry place away from flammable materials. Topping up after each ride is fine; most packs are happiest stored around 40–70%.
Can I use a faster charger?
Only a charger the manufacturer approves for your model. Voltage must match exactly, and higher amperage shortens battery life and can be unsafe. Our chargers list the exact models they fit.
How long does a battery last?
Most quality packs keep around 80% of their capacity after 500–800 full charge cycles — several years of typical commuting. Capacity loss is gradual and is normally excluded from warranty.
Parts & compatibility
How do I know a part fits my scooter?
Every replacement part lists the scooter models it has been confirmed to fit, plus any fitment detail (wheel position, connector type, model year). Use the compatibility finder to see everything matched to your model. If a part does not list your scooter, ask us before ordering.
What does “universal” mean?
We use the label only for items verified to fit any scooter — helmets, locks, most phone holders. Parts such as chargers, tires, brake pads and controllers are never universal and are listed by model.
Orders, warranty & returns
What warranty do products carry?
The warranty for a specific product is shown in its specifications. Typical coverage, exclusions and the claims process are explained on the Warranty Information page.
Can I return a scooter I have ridden?
Change-of-mind returns require the scooter to be unused outdoors and complete; ridden scooters may be refused or subject to a restocking deduction. Faulty scooters are handled under warranty at any time within the coverage period.
Which payment methods do you accept?
The payment methods available in your region are shown at checkout. Card details are handled entirely by our payment provider and never stored by this website.
Riding legally
Is it legal to ride an electric scooter where I live?
Rules differ by country, state and city and change often: some places allow private scooters on roads and cycle lanes with speed limits, some restrict them to private land, and many require lights, a bell and a minimum age. Our blog overview lists sources by region, but you must check the current rules for your location before riding.
Can a scooter be limited to my local speed limit?
Many models offer riding modes or app settings that cap speed. Check the product page and the manufacturer’s app documentation; we do not modify scooters.
